5) First Job Execution
First 30 / 60 / 90 days plan
Getting your first job in the US is a massive win, but the first three months are the most critical. This is called the **Probation Period**. During this time, the company is watching to see if you are a high-potential employee worth sponsoring for a visa. As your guide, I want to show you how to move from the new person to the person they can't afford to lose.
You shouldn't just show up to work. You need a roadmap.
- Days 1–30 (The Sponge Phase): Your only job is to learn. Meet every person on your team. Learn the tools. Ask "dumb" questions now so you don't have to ask them later.
- Days 31–60 (The Contributor Phase): Start taking small tasks. Fix a bug, write a report, or help a teammate. Your goal is to show you can finish what you start.
- Days 61–90 (The Owner Phase): Identify one small problem the team has ignored and fix it without being asked. This shows you have "initiative."
